Masai Mara National Reserve
If you are visiting Kenya, the Masai Mara National Reserve should definitely be in your list of must-visits. It is Kenya’s top national reserve, a place where you can enjoy the true wilderness of Africa while at the same time enjoy some comforting amenities that will help you enjoy your trip even further. Here are a few things to expect at the Masai Mara National Reserve.
Situated in the southwest part of Kenya, the Masai Mara National Reserve offers the Mara River as its primary attraction. The river is very beautiful nonetheless and it is also the place where most animals living in the Masai Mara National Reserve gather almost every day. If you time your visit correctly, you can even witness thousands of Zebra migrating across the Mara River.
The Mara River is also the home of hippopotamuses and crocodiles, so you will be able to see some interesting scenes during your visit. If you like, you can get a full-tour around the Masai Mara National Reserve or simply rent a car and explore the area yourself. Be sure to have a map or proper guide with you though, since it is very easy to get lost in this particular area.
Some of the animals you will see in the Masai Mara National Reserve include lions, leopards, cheetah, hyenas, giraffe, impala, wildebeest, topi, baboons, warthogs, buffalo, zebra, and of course elephants. Be sure to visit the Masai Mara National Reserve during the period of July to October to witness the best views of this natural park.
