“I can smell Spring!” shouted Duffy one day.
“The soft air is tickling my nose.
It feels warm, it feels breezy. I’ve stopped feeling sneezy.
Everywhere glimmers and glows.”
“I’ll write a long poem to welcome the Spring,
with wonderful words that will rhyme.
Like “winky” and “twinky.” They both rhyme with “stinky.”
It’s easy! It won’t take much time.”

AUTUMN SHOW
“We’ll never be ready,” the Thrift Store Bears wail.
“Nothing we do turns out right.”
“Don’t worry,” says Brighton, “rehearsals are like that.
The show will be perfect tonight.”

SUMMER GAMES
The next day little Freddy Mouse came knocking at the door
to ask if he could play with them again.
The bears said, “Yes, of course you can, but first we want to catch
the squawky-rawky crookedy Crimble Crane.”

WINTER SURPRISES
“I’ve lost the only friend I have. I’ve searched for her all night,”
the old bear whispered sadly. “She’s disappeared from sight.”
“The Thrift Store Bears will help,” said Stan. “Cheer up and come with me.
You need a bath, a good hot meal and honey in your tea.”
